My gear is old, but I just make the best of what I got.

Okay, I'm currently playing in a cover band here in Melbourne Australia called Dr Nick. We Play top 40 covers and although I'm not proud of it, money's money and these gigs heat the house. And yes, I do sweeps in Summer of '69, ha ha ha!!!!

So, here's what I use on those oh-so stunning occasions:

Guitars: Ibanez Sabre custom (nephew Nick loaned it to me), and my 7 string Universe, helps with lower tunings and such.

Amp: Ampeg ss140c, bought at Guitar Center in San Jose for $500 back in 1987. They don't make it anymore , it's solid state, I have played through that amp for more than 20 years. It does the job. Has a mean gain, but I only use the power amp section.

Cab: Hughes and Kettner, I got it from a friend out here for $500. There's cat piss on it too, looks marvelous.The next big piece of gear I'd get would be a Mesa Cab. They're just straight up BRUTAL.

Pedals: Line 6 X3 Live. Still trying to perfect dual tones. Takes lots of time.

And that's it!! I obviously use Deans for the lessons, which I have to give back after filming. I use the x3Live for the video clips as well.
